Computer Company Can ‘Crow’ About Commercial Development

A Comber based computing company has something to ‘crow’ about, having successfully converted an old building into a modern business centre – with all units now fully let.

Computer Systems (Ireland) Ltd, a locally owned family business which provides a range of games consoles and software, PC hardware, maintenance and repair, began renovations to the Old Crow building on Comber’s Glen Road, where its own offices are also located, back in November 2004. Just over two years and 2,500 square feet later, the building is now also home to a myriad of companies, from the financial services sector and domestic nursing care to property development and purified water equipment suppliers.

The project’s completion has been welcomed by Mayor of Ards, Councillor Angus Carson, who is to visit the premises tomorrow (Tuesday 27th March).

“When CSI first decided to embark on the refurbishment programme, the Council was on hand – and on site – to give practical advice about the current gaps in business accommodation in the Comber area and I am delighted to see now that the company has managed not only to continue to develop its own business with great success, but also to make best use of the space they have available to assist other companies to grow in the area”.

Anyone who would like further information about the Old Crow Building should contact Anne Nevin, Computer Systems (Ireland) Ltd, Tel: 028 9187 3700, while anyone interested in the economic development services offered by Ards Borough Council should contact the Development Department on 028 9182 4065.
