TITANIC TOUR
For some years the White Star Line had watched other
shipping lines eat away at their profits. Over dinner Lord
Pirrie of Harland and Wolff and Bruce Ismay of the White
Star Line agreed to build three super liners, named Olympic,
Titanic and Gigantic. On March 31st 1909 in Belfast the keel
was laid of ship number 401, a ship that stood as tall as an
eleven storey building, with three million rivets used in her
construction. Thus began the story of Titanic! Seen by many
of the time as the unsinkable ship, Titanic sailed three years
later to meet her destiny on the Atlantic Ocean, that cold
April night of 1912.
Experience Ards Tours will take you on a titanic voyage of
discovery:
