Comber
Runner up in Best Kept Town & Village Awards!
Placed second in the ‘Medium Town’ category of the SuperValu Best Kept Town Awards, Comber is a shining example of residents taking care of their local area.
Speaking about the award, Councillor Jonathan Bell, Chair of the Council services Committee said “I am very pleased that Comber did so well in this competition. The result showed that all aspects of the town, right down to the grass verges, parks and open spaces are all kept to a very high standard. It also shows that both the business and general community along with the Council Officers participate fully in keeping the overall appearance of the locality at that very high level”.
From May to August the Best Kept Town Award judges look for a number of things, including: an absence of general litter, fly posters, graffiti and derelict buildings; the tidiness of gardens and the decorative and repair order of private and commercial premises and the quality and placing of advertising.
