A new way to remember those we miss at Christmas and raise funds for charity has been developed by the Rotary Club of Comber.
From Monday 17th until Thursday 20th of December the Rotary Club of Comber, together with The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children, will be offering people in the Comber area the facility to post a Christmas message in remembrance of loved ones missed by their family and friends this Christmas. For a small contribution a short Christmas message can be attached to a ribbon and put on the Christmas tree in Comber Square.
People can write their message either at the Rotary gazebo beside the tree (10am to 4pm each day) or at the Cancer Charity Shop in Castle Street, all messages will then be affixed to the Christmas Tree at the end of each day.
All monies collected will be divided equally between the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and Rotary funded local charities.
Club President Ken Brundle said, "Christmas is a time when our thoughts turn to absent friends and loved ones and the good times we enjoyed together. The Rotary Remembrance Tree will give you an opportunity to remember them by placing a remembrance ribbon on the tree with a special message attached.”
