Ards Borough Council has been Offered £118,000 by the Department of Social development to complete part of the concept plan for the regeneration of Comber Square.
Plans for The Square were unveiled at the beginning of last year, with revised plans submitted last December.
The Councils Director of Development Derek McCallan, confirmed they had received a letter of offer from the DSD, with a caveat all the work pertaining to the grant be carried out by the end of March.
"Its a very exacting timetable, but in view of the gain for Comber , we will work towards completing in the timescale.” he said, “We hope to get on site very shortly”.
"We aim to get the work linked to the DSD grant by March 31, so the positive changes to Comber Square can be enjoyed by people in the spring and the summer” Mr McCallan concluded.
